Murray Wortman

Murray played most of his career with the best coed and men's slow pitch teams in IL. His leadership and ability in controlling the game tempo through his pitching won many close games that led to state titles. The pitcher is the most important player when evenly balanced teams play against each other. That statement is proven with Murray's success in winning in softball. Despite the many state awards and national all-tournament team awards, more than once, Murray has unselfishly asked awards (that he deserved in tournaments) be given to those teammates who had not been as recognized. Murray ranks among the best pitchers/players played with and against.
